Llandarcy futsal club continued their preparation for the coming National league campaign yesterday with a double header at Cardiff’s house of sport.
Their first opponents were FC SALISBURY UNITED, who play in the English National league Southern Conference followed by CARDIFF CITY DEAF.
LLANDARCY FUTSAL CLUB 7-3 FC SALISBURY UNITED
Salisbury travelled with a youthful side and caused Llandarcy some problems early on but it wasn’t very long until Llandarcy started to boss the game with Dan Thomas giving then the lead after 6 mins. Huw Beynon extended the lead before Salisbury hit back, Llandarcy keeper being unsighted.
Dan Thomas added his second just before the break giving Llandarcy a 3-1 lead at half time.
Llandarcy came out in the second half the better team, building up a 7-1 league but not without any problems, their keeper Phil Hocking pulling off a number of important saves. It took a bit of fortune to get Salisbury on the scoreboard in the second half with a long range looping effort and their only other goal was a penalty on the buzzer resulting from a foul from Llandarcy skipper Huw Beynon.
Llandarcy scorers in the second half were Gregg Hammett (2), Huw Beynon (2) and another from impressive Dan Thomas.
This was another solid performance from Llandarcy which saw Darren Khan having yet another solid game along with Matthew Birdsey and Al Stevens making impressive first appearances of the season. Llandarcy’s veteran defender Steve Jacobs returned gave them some added defensive organisation.
