Futsal League Application Open

The FAW is now inviting applications for membership to the FAW Futsal League 2015/16. The League is now in its third season, with Wrexham Futsal Club victorious last season. The inaugural winners of the competition was Cardiff University in 2013/14. A significant change for the new season is that the League winners will now represent Wales in the UEFA Futsal Cup, previously it was awarded to the FAW Futsal Cup Champions. The FAW has also agreed that the League will remain capped at eight clubs, which is similar to other smaller-sized Nations throughout Europe. There will be four teams in the North Conference and 4 teams in the South Conference. The competition format has changed for the new season from a neutral venue with back-to-back fixtures, to a home and away schedule, where the home club will be responsible for the organisation and payment of the facility hire.

The prize money for the League has been confirmed as:

Winners x1 - £1,500 Runners-up x1 - £750 Semi-Finalists x2 - £350 per club Group Stages x4 - £250 per club

The first deadline date for all applications is 5pm on Monday 6 July 2015. Following feedback from the FAW, clubs can make amendments to the application before the final deadline of 5pm on Tuesday 21 July 2015. Successful clubs awarded the Licence to participate will be informed by 7 August 2015 and the fixtures announced one week later. The FAW Futsal League will kick off on Sunday 6th September 2015.
