LLANDARCY FUTSAL CLUB

Llandarcy Futsal Club was formed in 2015, after previously playing under Lonlas Boys Club and Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC. We are a forward thinking ambitious club based in Llandarcy, Neath. Our futsal club at this stage only has a senior futsal team but is a branch of Llandarcy AFC which has two senior sides and a range of younger teams from under 11’s to 16’s. In our first season (2013/2014), playing as Lonlas Boys Club, we only entered the FAW futsal cup where we were beaten in the semi finals. In our second season (2014/2015), this time playing under Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC, we entered the FAW Elite National League for the first time where we finished runners up in the Southern Conference meaning we were entered into the league playoffs. Again we were beaten in the semi finals by the eventual winners of the National League. We made further progression in the FAW Futsal Cup by beating the National League Champions in the semi finals but only to pick up a runners up medal in the final. From the 2015/2016 season onwards, we have rebranded to Llandarcy Futsal Club and will be competing in the FAW Elite National League and Futsal Cup which we believe we are well placed to achieve our ambition to be representing Wales in the UEFA Futsal Cup.

The main mission of Llandarcy Futsal Club is to raise the standards of futsal in Wales and to achieve this, the club has to be successful both in Wales and Europe. Llandarcy Futsal Club is honoured that it managed to set the higher standards of the game in certain areas of Wales but are looking to expand this further and in coming seasons. The club is determined to reach the UEFA Futsal Cup which is the most prestigious futsal tournament in Europe.

The clubs vision is that futsal in Wales should not remain only on the amateur level but it has to move a leading position in European futsal which will contribute to Wales rising in the World Rankings. Given the football and team sports’ traditions in Wales, this vision will become sucessful with the  right approach and commitment.
